2019 Tmall Double 11 Opening Ceremony was held on October 21st at the Shanghai National Exhibition and Convention Center. Wonderlabs is very pleased to have the rare opportunity to design and produce the AI host, which is a real-time interactive performance, for a live event.
Through real-time face motion capture technology, the facial expressions and head movements of the person at the backstage were accurately captured and displayed via the AI host on the big screen. The voice of person was also tweaked to match with the sci-fi style image.
The creative process was also met with challenges. How to display the real-time content on three screens with a total resolution of 20K. After many tests by the team, the problem was finally solved through multi-channel and network communication.
